What is the China Specialists Alliance (CSA)?

The China Specialists Alliance is NOT a social network like Xing or Linkedin, it is intended to create more business opportunities for participating members. The CSA is established and managed by Mr. Brian Su, CEO & President of Artisan Business Group. The formation of a global network of collaboration and closer partnership among independent China business consulting firms, specialists and other service providers will strengthen members' ability, capacity and effectiveness to deliver better services and increase their profitability in greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau) and global markets.

What have motivated Mr. Brian Su to initiate and form the China Specialists Alliance?

A business tour of nine Chinese cities made Mr. Brian Su rethink and evaluate his past approach and practice in greater China market He realizes that smaller consulting firms have limited resources and staffing for large and complex projects and unlikely deliver efficient services in different geographical regions. By forming a closer partnership with others, every participating firm would have better access to various connections and markets, and gain more profitable business opportunities.  Mr. Su is willing to work with other China consulting firms by making his extensive connections, experiences, and his China staff available around the clock.  

What are the main advantages for joining the China Specialists Alliance?

By becoming a member of the CSA and collaborating with others, your firm would be able to:

How many members are affiliated with
the China Specialists Alliance?

The short term goal is to have 30 member firms from the U.S., China, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa by the end of 2009. At least 5 firms will be recruited from major 2nd tier cities in China this year.

Who can join the China Specialists Alliance?

Membership is open to independent China related consulting firms, consultants, specialists, other professional and legal service providers that have significant credentials and expertise in dealing with Chinese market and Chinese businesses in international market.  Applicants must adhere to highest professional standards, maintain current membership dues; are willing to exchange referrals and business assistance, provide services and assistance to other members at discount rates (or free of charge on some occasion); and actively network with other members; and shall agree to provide website and key contact information.

What particular expertise or specialties are the alliance looking for?

The Alliance welcomes consultants and specialists in various industries and sectors, such as risk management and compliance, IT and outsourcing, manufacturing, energy, heavy industry, health care, transportation and logistics, engineering, international trade, financial services and investment, law, agriculture and forestry, professional services, government affairs and public relations, tourism and entertainment, retail and wholesale, real estate, education and training, business services and immigration, etc.

Can firms or consultants in China join the alliance?

Yes! If your firm specializes in assisting foreign clients in doing business in China, you are welcome to join. Firms in 2nd tier cities and rural regions are encouraged to apply. Application fee and membership can be sent in RMB, please contact us for detailed instruction.

Can firms mainly serving outbound Chinese businesses join the alliance?

Yes! If your firm specializes in assisting Chinese clients in doing business in overseas market, such as in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Africa, you are welcome to join.  

Why are there an application fee and annual membership due?

The collection of fees would be covering the expenses of running and promoting the CSA and its website.

How can I justify spending money on membership when my firm is facing budget challenges?

A membership with CSA may actually save your money by increasing your name recognition and sharing resources and receiving referrals from other members who may need your collaboration and assistance. The membership may allow you do much more with less. CSA website is promoted online through various means.

Can I cancel or withdraw the CSA membership?

Yes, you can cancel or withdraw your CSA membership, however, your membership due is not refundable.

Is CSA website promoted online?

Yes, this website is mainly promoted by utilizing Google Adwords campaign and frequent search engines submissions as well as other means. A public blog will soon to be created to benefit the members.

How can I or my firm become a member of CSA?

You can download a copy of application (PDF) and send it back to us along with application fee and the 1st year membership due. One time non-refundable application fee of US$20 is required. Annual membership fees start just $99. You can pick one of the three levels of membership based on the size of your business: Affiliate (1-2 principals), Partner (-10 employees), Sponsor (10+ employees). If your application is not approved, your membership due will be returned.  Online payment is also available at contact us page.
